At Cumberland Buildings, we happen to love every season, but summer holds a special place in our heart. As we ramp up to summer, now is the time to start thinking about your lawn’s best friend, your lawn mower. A good lawn mower can help keep your grass healthy and make your lawn care routine simple. Here are three things you can do to make your lawn mower the best it can be this year.
One forgotten notice in keeping your lawn mower at a good maintenance is how frequent oil changes should take place. The engine oil and engine filter should be replaced at least once every spring or summer.
Check the spark plug, sometimes it could be worn or bad and if it’s not replaced it can cause your lawn mower to run rough or not start at all.
Your lawn mower blade should be sharpened twice each season to help keep a green and healthy lawn. The sharp blade will not only cut blades clean, so the grass plants can restore promptly but it also helps cut down your lawn mowing time.
Just in case your mower has moved on to that big lawn in the sky, here are two great options that would be great picks as your next mower.
Honda is widely praised as the best lawn mower brand to own, in part because it has a five-year warranty. This average sized mower is known for its strength to cut through tough, wet grass and its reliability.
The EGO Power+ is an intriguing machine. It’s great for smaller lawns, as the battery will allow the machine to run for 90 minutes while cutting and would mean that most of the start of the year maintenance listed above could be skipped. As an electric mower, you wouldn’t need to change the oil, or drain the carburetor. However, that convenience does come at a cost. The Power+ can cost upwards to twice the amount of an entry level mower.
With whichever route you’re looking to take this season, we here at Cumberland Buildings want to wish you a GREAT start to the spring/summer season!
