Labor Day Recipes Guaranteed to Make Your Cookout Fabulous

Labor Day Recipes Guaranteed to Make Your Cookout Fabulous

Summer is always a busy season for us at Cumberland Buildings as we fill our schedule to the brim, creating beautiful backyards for all our customers.  This summer, in particular, has seemed to really fly by.  Closing out summer with a big cookout bash seems to be the best way to celebrate the end of our busy season. If you’re hoping to make this year’s Labor Day party the best barbecue ever, we’ve got some ideas for a Labor Day menu to keep your guests coming back for more.

Think outside the hot dog bun

Your grill is capable of cooking more than just your standard burgers and dogs. If you want to create a dish that’ll really knock the socks off, your guests consider surprising them with foods which aren’t typical bbq fare.

Our favorite option this Labor Day is bright citrus shrimp skewers served with a lime & dill chimichurri sauce for dipping. Not only is the flavor out of this world, but it’s a cheerfully colorful addition to your table. Especially when you pair it with fresh summer squash and red cherry tomatoes.

Switch out the standard sides

While everyone will have macaroni salad and baked beans at their Labor Day celebration, let’s give your guests something to rave about with some non-standard side dishes.

Don’t forget dessert and drinks

Rounding out your meal with the perfect cocktail or dreamy dessert will ensure your bbq is remembered long after the last s’more has been roasted.

  • Parade magazine suggests this bubbly spin on a classic mule as your cocktail of choice.
  • Dessert should be the highlight of the afternoon if you choose one of these creamy, cool, parfaits!

Whatever you serve, we hope you celebrate all your hard work and accomplishments this summer and look forward to serving you this fall with all your storage building solutions.
