3 Spooktacular Halloween Craft Ideas

As summer fades into fall, the spooky season is creeping up on us once again. And what better way to get in the Halloween spirit than to create your own festive decorations? These crafts only require a few simple supplies, and you probably already have them around the house. Keep reading to see our top 3 awesome Halloween craft ideas!

HALLOWEEN TIN CAN BOWLING

For this craft, you can use acrylic paint and upcycle some tin cans! Decorate them as spooky Halloween characters, like a vampire, a jack-o-lantern, or a black cat. You’ll need at least 6 tin cans, a tennis ball, construction paper, glue, acrylic paint, and a bit of tissue or gauze (if you want to make a mummy). These are actually multipurpose; a cute decoration, Halloween pen pots, and a fun little game all wrapped up in one. Don’t forget to write a number on the back of each to keep score for your game!

ORIGAMI JACK-O-LANTERNS

These are super cute and very easy to make. Just take a piece of orange construction paper and draw or paint whatever kind of face you want directly in the center. Then fold your paper in half. Next, you’ll cut lines in the paper, about an inch apart, perpendicular to the fold (almost to the edge, but leave an inch on each side). Open the paper, roll it in a tube shape, and either glue or tape the ends together. Then bend and crease each strip of paper outwards in the center to give your project a rounded pumpkin shape.

PAPER TUBE BATS

With a little construction paper, some glue, a couple of empty paper tubes, and a few pairs of googly eyes, you can have your very own bats roosting in your home this Halloween. Simply cut a strip of construction paper (whichever color you’d like) large enough to cover your paper tube, then glue it on. Glue on your googly eyes. Cut tiny triangles from white paper for fangs. Next, fold in the top and bottom of your tube, to create ears and feet. On black paper, cut out your bat’s wings, and then use glue or tape to attach them to your tube. You can even fill these with wrapped candies as an awesome handout at your Halloween party!

So get creative, use your imagination, and get yourself in the Halloween spirit this year with some of these easy DIY Halloween crafts! You’ll have tons of fun, you’ll make memories that will last a lifetime, and you might even start a new tradition.
